Dr John White
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr John White is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon whose specialist interest is in hand and upper limb conditions, including severe Dupuytren's contracture, small joint arthroscopy and joint replacements of the hand, elbow and shoulder.
After obtaining his MBBS from the University of Adelaide, he completed a PhD in orthopaedics examining the musculoskeletal problems in musicians.
John moved to the UK to undertake advanced postgraduate fellowships in hand and upper limb surgery at University College London and Wrightington Hospital Manchester University. He was also the recipient of the prestigious British Society for Surgery of the Hand “Pulvertaft Fellowship”. John then worked for many years as Head of the hand and upper limb unit and general orthopaedic trauma consultant at Queens and King George University Hospitals NHS Trust. He undertook his private practice at 9 Harley Street London .
In 2017 he returned to Australia to take up a position as a Senior Consultant in the Hand and Upper Limb Unit at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. His activities include hand injuries, general orthopaedic trauma, complex upper-limb trauma and elective hand and upper-limb surgery. He is currently the President of the South Australian Hand Surgery Society.
